Temesgen Tiruneh is an Ethiopian politician serving as the Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia since February 2024. Born in Bichena, Gojjam Province, he previously held significant roles including Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) and President of the Amhara Region. Throughout his career, he has been a key figure in the administration of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, particularly during the Tigray War, where he maintained a firm stance against the TPLF. He holds a BA in Computer Science from Microlink Information Technology College and an MA in Transformational Leadership from the University of Greenwich.
