Meral Danış Beştaş

Meral Danış Beştaş is a Turkish politician and lawyer who has served as a Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey since 2015. A graduate of Dicle University Faculty of Law, she has been a prominent figure in the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), serving as a co-deputy president. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for human rights and has faced significant legal challenges, including multiple detentions and ongoing political prosecution related to her party activities. She is known for her opposition to the closure of the HDP and her advocacy for the decriminalization of insulting the Turkish president.
