Michael Fenger

Michael Fenger is a Danish politician and former professional handball player who currently serves as the Mayor of Gentofte Municipality. Before entering politics, he enjoyed a distinguished athletic career, representing the Denmark men's national handball team in 234 matches, including the 1984 Summer Olympics, and was named Danish handball player of the year in 1986. Following his retirement from sports, he transitioned into coaching before being elected to the Gentofte Municipal Council in 2009. He assumed the office of mayor in 2021, succeeding long-time incumbent Hans Toft.
