
Michael Malchieli

Michael Malchieli is an Israeli politician serving as a member of the Knesset for the ultra-Orthodox Shas party. Born in 1982, he previously held the position of Minister of Religious Affairs from 2022 to 2025 and served as the acting Minister of Interior in early 2023. Before his national political career, he was a member of the Jerusalem City Council and worked as an educator and Rosh yeshiva. He is known for his focus on social issues and his representation of the Sephardi ultra-Orthodox community within the Israeli government.
