Michael Novakhov is an American politician and radio host currently serving as a member of the New York State Assembly for the 45th district. Born in the former USSR, he immigrated to the United States with his family. Before his election in 2022, he worked in the radio industry for nearly two decades and founded the Russian-language station FreedomFM in Brooklyn. In the legislature, he has advocated for public health initiatives, including a proposal to restrict public marijuana smoking to address concerns regarding second-hand smoke.
