Michaela Kaniber

Michaela Kaniber is a German politician and member of the Christian Social Union (CSU) who has served as the Bavarian State Minister for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism since 2018. Born in Bad Reichenhall to parents of Yugoslavian descent, she began her career in tax consultancy before entering local politics in 2006. She was first elected to the Landtag of Bavaria in 2013, representing the Berchtesgadener Land constituency. Kaniber is known for her focus on agricultural policy, rural development, and regional tourism, and she continues to hold her seat in the state parliament while serving in the cabinet of Minister-President Markus Söder.
