Michel Moawad

Michel Moawad is a Lebanese politician and member of the Lebanese Parliament representing the Zgharta District. He is the founder and president of the Independence Movement, a sovereigntist and reformist political party established in 2005. A prominent figure in the Cedar Revolution, Moawad has consistently advocated for anti-corruption reforms and the restoration of Lebanese sovereignty. In addition to his legislative work, he serves as the executive director of the René Moawad Foundation, an NGO focused on social, economic, and rural development across Lebanon. He remains a leading voice within the Lebanese Opposition Front.
