Michelle Wu is an American lawyer and politician serving as the Mayor of Boston since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the first woman and first Asian American elected to the office. Previously, she served on the Boston City Council from 2014 to 2021, including a term as council president. A progressive leader, Wu has focused her administration on climate change through a municipal Green New Deal, public transportation improvements, and police accountability reforms. She is a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School.
