Michiel van Veen

Michiel van Veen is a Dutch politician currently serving as the Mayor of Gemert-Bakel, a position he has held since December 2016. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2012 to 2016, where he focused on industry, technology, and regional policy. Before his national parliamentary career, he was an alderman and municipal councilor in Cuijk. Van Veen holds a background in operational technology and industrial engineering, and he worked in management roles at Stork for fifteen years prior to entering politics.
