Montserrat Bassa

Montserrat Bassa is a Spanish politician from Catalonia who serves as a Member of the Congress of Deputies. Born in Torroella de Montgrí, she previously worked as the director of the Escola d'Adults de Figueres and for the Department of Education at the Empúries ruins. A founding member of the Catalan Association for Civil Rights, she advocates for the families of Catalan political prisoners and exiles. She was elected to the Spanish Congress in 2019 representing the Republican Left of Catalonia–Sovereigntists alliance.
