Sira Rego

Sira Rego is a Spanish politician and dietitian affiliated with United Left who has been serving as the Minister of Youth and Children in the Government of Spain since November 2023. Born in Valencia to a Spanish mother and a Palestinian father, she previously served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2019 to 2023, where she was also nominated as the European United Left–Nordic Green Left's candidate for President of the European Parliament. Throughout her political career, Rego has been a vocal advocate against violence against women and has engaged in various domestic and European policy debates.
