Koichi Mukoyama is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Kobe, he graduated from Osaka University and began his career at Osaka Gas before entering politics. He has served as a Kobe City Council member and a Hyogo Prefectural Assembly member. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles within the Democratic Party for the People's Hyogo prefectural branch. Politically, he supports the revision of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution and has been active in issues concerning the abduction of Japanese citizens by North Korea. He is known for his long-standing commitment to local governance in Hyogo and his return to national politics after a period of service in local assemblies.
