Nanette Barragán is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 44th congressional district since 2017. Born in Harbor City, California, she earned her law degree from the University of Southern California before working as a legal extern and attorney at Latham & Watkins. Prior to her congressional career, she served on the Hermosa Beach City Council. A member of the Democratic Party, Barragán has focused on environmental protection, including advocating for the ban of hydrofluoric acid at oil refineries, and has served as the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. She is a staunch supporter of reproductive rights and maintains a progressive voting record.
