Nate Erskine-Smith

Nate Erskine-Smith is a Canadian politician and lawyer who has served as the Member of Parliament for Beaches—East York since 2015. A member of the Liberal Party, he previously held the position of Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities from December 2024 to May 2025. Before his political career, Erskine-Smith practiced commercial litigation and was active in civil liberties advocacy. Known for his focus on housing supply, public transit, and progressive policy, he has also been a prominent figure in Ontario provincial politics, having run for the provincial Liberal leadership in 2023. He currently remains a sitting Member of Parliament, though he has announced his intention to resign his seat in mid-2026.
