Nia Griffith

Dame Nia Rhiannon Griffith is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Llanelli since 2005. A member of the Labour Party, she has held various shadow cabinet positions, including Shadow Secretary of State for Wales and Shadow Defence Secretary. Griffith previously served as a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Wales Office in 2024. She is a noted advocate for modern languages and is a member of Labour Friends of Israel. In 2022, she was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her political and public service.
