John Nicholas Reynolds Houghton, Baron Houghton of Richmond, is a retired senior British Army officer and a life peer in the House of Lords. He served as the Chief of the Defence Staff of the British Armed Forces from 2013 to 2016, having previously held key roles including Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff and Chief of Joint Operations. Following his military retirement, he served as the Constable of the Tower of London from 2016 to 2022. Created a life peer in 2017, he sits as a crossbencher in the House of Lords and is a member of the International Relations and Defence Committee.
