Noboru Yamauchi

Noboru Yamauchi is a Japanese politician and former police officer currently serving as the Mayor of Gero City in Gifu Prefecture. Born in Ogaki, Gifu, he graduated from Rikkyo University before joining the Gifu Prefectural Police in 1980. During his law enforcement career, he served in diplomatic roles at the Embassy of Japan in Nicaragua and the Consulate-General of Japan in Barcelona, and later held the position of Chief of the Gero Police Station. He was first elected mayor in 2020 and secured a second term in 2024 after running unopposed.
