Takeshi Noma is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Kagoshima 3rd district. A graduate of Keio University, he began his career at Kanematsu Corporation before attending the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management. Throughout his political career, he has held various roles, including serving as a secretary to the Minister of Finance and as a leader within the People's New Party. Noma has been affiliated with several political groups, including the Democratic Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party, before joining the Chudo Kaikaku Rengo. His policy positions have evolved over time, currently emphasizing fiscal stimulus to support the economy, a cautious approach to interest rate hikes, and a stance against nuclear power dependency. He has also been a vocal advocate for permanent tax reductions, particularly regarding food consumption taxes, and maintains a critical view of constitutional amendments that would alter Article 9.
