Hidemichi Sato is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Natori, Miyagi Prefecture, he began his career as a journalist for the Komei Shimbun before entering politics as a member of the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly, where he served five terms. Since his election to the national Diet in 2012, he has held several key positions, including State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, and State Minister of Cabinet Office. Sato has been a prominent figure within the Komei Party, serving as its acting secretary-general and head of the Hokkaido headquarters. In 2026, he was re-elected to the House of Representatives representing the Centrist Reform Alliance.
