Oktay Özdemir

Oktay Özdemir is a German politician and a member of the Hamburg Parliament, having assumed office in 2025. Born in Hamburg to a Turkish guest worker family, he grew up in the city's Schanzenviertel district. Before entering politics, he served as a police officer, a career he has pursued since 2008. Özdemir has been involved with the Social Democratic Party (SPD) since 2007 and successfully ran for a seat in the 2025 state election. He is a father of four children.
