Oleksandr Kodola is a Ukrainian politician and public figure currently serving as the Mayor of Nizhyn, a position he has held since 2020. Previously, he served as a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) of the VIII convocation from 2014 to 2019, where he was deputy head of the Committee on Construction, Urban Planning, and Housing and Communal Services. A former activist in the Euromaidan movement, Kodola has a background in economics and public administration. Throughout his career, he has been involved in regional development, decentralization efforts, and international cooperation, particularly with Latvia.
