Omar Al-Rawi

Omar Al-Rawi is an Austrian politician and a member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). Born in Baghdad, he has served as a member of the Vienna Landtag and Municipal Council since 2002. Professionally, Al-Rawi is a civil engineer who has held various roles in the construction industry, including serving as a works council chairman at Strabag. Throughout his political career, he has focused on urban development, transport, and international affairs. He is also a co-founder of the Initiative of Muslim Austrians and has been a long-standing advocate for integration and interfaith dialogue, despite facing various political controversies regarding his affiliations.
