Ovidiu Puiu

Ovidiu Puiu is a Romanian politician and academic serving as a member of the Senate of Romania, having been elected in 2020 representing the Social Democratic Party (PSD). Within the Senate, he contributes to the committees on Education, Environment, and Science, Innovation and Technology. Beyond his legislative duties, Puiu has had a distinguished career in higher education, serving as the Rector of the Constantin Brâncoveanu University in Pitești since 2012. He previously held various academic leadership roles, including Prorector and Dean at the same institution, and began his professional life as a research assistant at the Institute for World Economy in Bucharest.
