P. T. Usha is an Indian parliamentarian, sports administrator, and retired track and field athlete. Often celebrated as the 'Queen of Indian track and field,' she achieved international acclaim for her performance in Asian Games and Olympic competitions throughout the 1980s. In July 2022, she was nominated to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, and later became the first nominated member to serve on the panel of vice-chairpersons. Additionally, she serves as the president of the Indian Olympic Association, having been elected to the role in 2022.
