Pat Sheehan

Pat Sheehan is a Northern Irish politician and member of the Northern Ireland Assembly representing Belfast West. A former member of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, he was a participant in the 1981 hunger strikes at the Maze Prison. Following his release and subsequent academic pursuits, he earned a degree in Social Sciences and Philosophy from The Open University. He succeeded Gerry Adams as an MLA in 2010 and has since remained a prominent figure within Sinn Féin, also serving as a political member of the Northern Ireland Policing Board.
