Patrick Johnstone is a Canadian politician and geoscientist serving as the Mayor of New Westminster, British Columbia, since 2022. Before his election as mayor, he served two terms as a city councillor from 2014 to 2022. A member of the social democratic party Community First New West, Johnstone has focused his tenure on urban infrastructure, including the expansion of cycling and pedestrian networks, and advocating for enhanced traffic enforcement. Prior to his political career, he worked as a project scientist and environmental coordinator.
