Paul Bettencourt

Paul Bettencourt is an American politician and businessman currently serving as a Republican member of the Texas State Senate for District 7. First elected to the Senate in 2014, he previously served as the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector from 1998 to 2008. Known as "The Taxman," he founded Bettencourt Tax Advisors LLC and is a conservative talk radio host. Throughout his legislative career, he has focused on property tax reform, pension liability issues, and election integrity, frequently sponsoring legislation aimed at increasing oversight of election administration in Harris County.
