Peter Fonseca is a Canadian politician and former Olympic athlete who has served as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Mississauga East—Cooksville since 2015. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he immigrated to Canada as a child and later competed in the 1996 Olympic Games as a marathon runner. Before his federal career, he served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, holding cabinet positions including Minister of Labour and Minister of Tourism and Recreation. In Parliament, he has chaired the Standing Committee on Finance.
