Peter Fonseca is a Canadian politician and former Olympic athlete who has served as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Mississauga East—Cooksville since 2015. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he immigrated to Canada as a child and later competed in the 1996 Olympic Games as a marathon runner. Before his federal career, he served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, holding cabinet positions including Minister of Labour and Minister of Tourism and Recreation.
