Peter Žiga

Peter Žiga is a Slovak politician and businessman currently serving as a member of the National Council of Slovakia. Previously, he held ministerial positions as the Minister of the Environment from 2012 to 2016 and Minister of the Economy from 2016 to 2020. A former member of the SMER-SD party, he joined the Voice – Social Democracy (Hlas-SD) party in 2020. Throughout his career, he has faced various corruption allegations related to his tenure in the Ministry of the Environment, though he has maintained his political career and served as Deputy Speaker of the National Council.
