Pierre-André Chiappori

Pierre-André Chiappori is a French-Monégasque economist and government official who serves as the Counsellor for Finance and Economy in Monaco. He studied at the École normale supérieure and earned his Ph.D. in economics from the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Throughout his academic career, he has held professorships at institutions including the École Polytechnique, ENSAE, the University of Chicago, and Columbia University, where he currently holds the E. Rowan and Barbara Steinschneider Professorship of Economics. In addition to his academic achievements, he was appointed Counsellor of Finance and Economy for Monaco in March 2024 and is a member of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques.
