Prasanta Behera

Prasanta Behera is an Indian politician serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Salipur constituency in Odisha. Born in 1977 into a Gopal (Yadav) family, he is the son of veteran politician and former MLA Dharmananda Behera. After completing his schooling at Kamalakanta Vidyapitha in Cuttack, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Choudwar College. Behera first contested the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2014 as a Biju Janata Dal candidate but was unsuccessful. He subsequently won the seat in the 2019 elections, defeating his opponent from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
