Prem Sikka, Baron Sikka

Prem Nath Sikka, Baron Sikka, is a British-Indian accountant, academic, and life peer. Born in 1951, he migrated to the UK in 1966 and built a distinguished career in accounting education, serving as Professor of Accounting at the University of Sheffield and Emeritus Professor at the University of Essex. A prominent critic of the accounting profession, he has long campaigned against tax avoidance and corporate governance failures. He was nominated for a life peerage in 2020 and has since been an active member of the House of Lords, where he advocates for socialist economic policies and the regulation of corporate practices.
