R. J. Simpson

R. J. Simpson is a Canadian politician serving as the 14th Premier of the Northwest Territories since December 2023. First elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories in 2015 to represent the electoral district of Hay River North, he previously held several cabinet portfolios, including Minister of Education, Culture and Employment. Simpson holds a Bachelor of Arts from MacEwan University and a law degree from the University of Alberta. In his role as Premier, he has focused on interprovincial trade and economic cooperation.
