Rais Shaikh

Rais Shaikh is an Indian politician currently serving his second consecutive term as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly representing the Bhiwandi East constituency. Before his election to the state assembly, he served as a Municipal Councilor in Mumbai, where he gained recognition for his focus on civic infrastructure, education reform, and healthcare access. Through his Ahtesaab Foundation, he has championed initiatives such as digital classrooms, maternal health programs, and slum infrastructure improvements. Shaikh is known for his advocacy on social issues, including women's safety, poverty alleviation, and his vocal opposition to discriminatory policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
