First elected to Congress in 2020 after defeating incumbent Steve King, he previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021 and as the Sioux County Treasurer. Feenstra holds a background in business and education, having worked as a city administrator and as a faculty member at Dordt University. Politically, he is a member of the Republican Party and has focused on agricultural and fiscal policy, while also launching a campaign for the 2026 Iowa gubernatorial election.
