Raquel Lyra

Raquel Teixeira Lyra Lucena is a Brazilian lawyer and politician currently serving as the Governor of Pernambuco since 2023. She is the first woman to hold this office in the state's history. Before her election as governor, she served as the mayor of Caruaru from 2017 to 2022, becoming the first woman to lead that city. Her political career also includes serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco. She comes from a prominent political family in the region.
