Recai Aytaş is a German politician of Kurdish descent who has served as a member of the Bremische Bürgerschaft since June 2023. Born in Turkey, he moved to Germany in 1989 and has worked as a social worker since 1992. A member of the SPD since 2005, he is active in local politics in the Hastedt district and serves as the SPD parliamentary group's spokesperson for advisory boards, civic participation, and petitions. In 2023, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his extensive social and integration work.
