Regina Romero is an American politician serving as the 42nd Mayor of Tucson, Arizona, since 2019. She made history as the first woman and the first Latina to hold the office. Before her mayoral tenure, she served as a Tucson City Council member from 2007 to 2019 and worked as a program coordinator for Pima County. Romero is known for her focus on urban infrastructure, climate change initiatives, and social justice issues. She holds a degree from the University of Arizona and a postgraduate certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School.
