René Zonschits is an Austrian politician and member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). Since March 2023, he has served as a member of the Landtag of Lower Austria, and in June 2026, he assumed the role of parliamentary group leader (Klubobmann) for the SPÖ in the state parliament. Zonschits has a background in local government, having served as the administrative head (Amtsleiter) of his home municipality of Angern an der March since 2010 and as its deputy mayor since 2020. In addition to his political career, he is also a winemaker.
