Renildo Calheiros is a Brazilian politician and geologist currently serving as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies representing the state of Pernambuco. A long-time member of the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB), he previously served as the Mayor of Olinda for two terms from 2009 to 2016 and was the first legal president of the National Union of Students (UNE) in the 1980s. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles within the Chamber, including vice-leader of the government during the Lula administration.
