Éric Piolle

Éric Piolle is a French politician who has served as the Mayor of Grenoble since 2014. A former executive at Hewlett-Packard and co-founder of the financial technology firm Raise Partner, he transitioned into politics with a focus on environmentalism and social equity. As a prominent member of The Ecologists (formerly EELV), he became the first Green mayor of a major French city with over 100,000 inhabitants. Piolle is known for his advocacy of a 'humanist arc' in politics, promoting policies such as the reduction of working hours, climate-focused taxation, and constitutional reforms to strengthen environmental protections.
