Ricardo Magnus Osório Galvão is a Brazilian physicist, engineer, and politician currently serving as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies for the state of São Paulo. A distinguished academic, he previously served as the Director-General of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and as president of the CNPq. He gained international recognition for his defense of scientific integrity and environmental data regarding Amazon deforestation during the Bolsonaro administration, an act for which he was honored by the journal Nature and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Galvão holds a PhD in Plasma Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a professor at the University of São Paulo.
