Richard Leonard is a British politician serving as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Central Scotland region. A socialist and trade unionist, he previously led the Scottish Labour Party from 2017 to 2021. Before his election to the Scottish Parliament in 2016, Leonard worked extensively with the Scottish Trades Union Congress and GMB Scotland. Throughout his career, he has been a vocal advocate for workers' rights and has consistently promoted left-wing economic policies within the Labour movement.
