Rita Atukwasa is a Ugandan politician and public policy analyst currently serving as the Woman Member of Parliament for Mbarara City in the Eleventh Parliament of Uganda. Elected in January 2021 as an independent candidate, she brings extensive experience as a gender specialist and trainer for gender and equity budgeting. Prior to her parliamentary career, she served as the Executive Director of the Institute for Social Transformation and held various advocacy roles, including working with the Uganda Women's Parliamentary Association. She holds a Master's degree in Public Policy and Governance from the Uganda Management Institute.
