Roland Gutierrez is an American attorney and politician currently serving as a member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 19 since 2021. Previously, he served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2008 to 2021 and on the San Antonio City Council starting in 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, Gutierrez has been a vocal advocate for gun safety legislation, particularly following the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting in his district. He also sought the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in 2024.
