Rosie Winterton is a British politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2024. Previously, she was a long-serving Member of Parliament for Doncaster Central from 1997 to 2024, during which time she held several ministerial roles, including Minister of State for Transport and Minister for Work and Pensions. She also served as Labour Chief Whip from 2010 to 2016 and as a Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons from 2017 to 2024. She was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2016.
