Ruben Gallego is an American politician serving as the junior United States Senator from Arizona since 2025. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served in Iraq, he previously represented Arizona's 7th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2015 to 2025 and served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2011 to 2014. Initially elected as a progressive, Gallego has shifted toward a more centrist platform during his Senate career. He is the first Latino elected to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate and is recognized for his focus on national security, economic issues, and border security.
