
Rumi Verjee

Rumi Verjee is a British businessman, philanthropist, and politician who has served as a life peer in the House of Lords since 2013. Born in Uganda, he moved to the United Kingdom as a child and later studied law at Downing College, Cambridge. Verjee is widely recognized for his successful business career, most notably for introducing the Domino's Pizza franchise to the UK and his former ownership of Watford F.C. A dedicated philanthropist, he established The Rumi Foundation in 2006 to support humanitarian initiatives in education and innovation, earning him a CBE in 2009. As a member of the Liberal Democrats, he focuses on improving political representation for under-represented groups.
