Ryoma Tomita is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Higashikurume in Tokyo. Born in Higashikurume, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Teikoku University. Before entering local politics, he worked as a secretary for politician Takashi Kawamura. Tomita began his political career as a member of the Higashikurume City Council, where he served five terms and held positions including Vice-Chair and Chair of the Council. In 2021, he was elected as the Mayor of Higashikurume with the support of the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito, succeeding the previous mayor.
