Ryo Harada

Ryo Harada is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Minoh, Osaka. Born in Sakai, he graduated from Osaka University, where he led a disaster relief organization following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Harada began his political career as a member of the Minoh City Council in 2012, later serving two terms in the Osaka Prefectural Assembly. During his time in the assembly, he held the position of secretary-general for the Liberal Democratic Party's prefectural caucus. In 2024, he left the LDP to run as an independent candidate, successfully winning the Minoh mayoral election by defeating the incumbent candidate supported by the Osaka Restoration Association.
